Coastal Daytrip to Harg and Öregrund
Join Cult of Sweden for a summer daytrip that combines art, local history, coastal scenery, and relaxed social time.
On 14 July, we travel together from Uppsala at 11:00 for a daytrip to Harg and Öregrund. We begin by taking a private bus to Järnboden in Harg, a striking old stone building from 1758. There we will visit a special art and craft exhibition arranged by Konstvarning, with works shown across four floors by members and invited artists. The exhibitions are run by the artists themselves, which creates a good opportunity for interesting and personal encounters between artists and visitors. There is also a café with homemade treats at Järnboden.
During the bus journey, your guide will give a short introduction in English about the places we are visiting, so you get a better sense of their history and character.
After Harg, we continue to Öregrund, a charming summer town by the sea known for its small streets, seaside atmosphere, and relaxed coastal character. In Öregrund, we will divide into smaller groups depending on interests and plans. There will be an option to join a pre-booked restaurant, or you can spend the time more freely by strolling through the town, enjoying the seaside, or going for a swim from the rocks.
At the end of the day, we return to Uppsala by local bus.
